About the N.S.S. of Barjora College

Barjora College is an interior College situated at Barjora of the district Bankura with affiliated by the University of Bankura. Even if it is a remote area the NSS Units (I, II, & III) approach the society with an active afford to upgrade and aware in various contemporary issues applying its moto “NOT ME BUT YOU” along with sound support of college administration.

National Service Scheme (NSS) is a part of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Govt. of India. First it was launched in Gandhi’s Birth Centenary Year 1969, in 37 Universities involving 40000 students with the primary focus on the development of personality of students through community services. Our College has a very active NSS wing with two units (I, II& III), with 150 volunteers in the campus as well as beyond the campus and thereby it helps them to be future responsible citizens. The NSS units organize Regular Camp involving NSS volunteers and sometimes motivating other students and staff to get involved. Special Camp is organized beyond the campus in cooperation with local youths and other offices. All these programmes include cleansing drive in the campus and at the neighbourhood community, Health awareness Camp-Thalassemia check-up, Cancer awareness, AIDS awareness, Dengue and Malaria Awareness Health Check-up, Pulse Polio Immunization etc. Apart from these Blood Donation Camp, Observance of many important days etc. are also organized in a planned way.
